Nursing homes release COVID-19 data after 3News investigation

After Rachel’s ongoing investigations into the state’s refusal to release names of nursing homes with COVID-19 cases and deaths, Ohio’s governor changed his tune and released the names. That’s when Rachel uncovered the new data was riddled with errors. After she told the state about the errors, the data was corrected. All this while families with loved ones in nursing homes were left in the dark, turning to Rachel for answers.

3News investigates COVID-19 outbreak at Ohio’s only prison

Rachel led the charge on a series of exclusive stories about a COVID-19 outbreak at Ohio’s only federal prison. As families of Elkton inmates were met with silence, Rachel exposed prison conditions and explained how the federal prison essentially became a death trap. Later, Ohio’s state prisons would also meet the same fate. Rachel continued shining a light on these untold stories, talking with families of inmates as well as the lawyers who were trying to force prisons to release “medically vulnerable” inmates during the pandemic.
