Fort Myers Police arrested two phony panhandlers posing as a non-profit, after an NBC2 Investigation.
The two men were wearing vests and carrying buckets that said “New Life Christian Ministries.”
They are two of several people who stand at Southwest Florida intersections asking for money, claiming to be members of New Life Christian Ministries.
But when NBC2 started asking them questions, they couldn’t give us answers.
When NBC2 looked into where the money was going, we couldn’t find any nonprofits who were benefitting.
And when NBC2 talked with law enforcement, they confirmed that this group is illegitimate and police have been dealing with them for years.
